Out and About Alassio
Great sandy beaches
Alassio is possibly the most famous resort along this part of the Italian Coastline. This area has some great sandy beaches with safe swimming and the usual tourist facilities including sunbeds, parasols and small boats for hire. From Alassio it is possible to visit the nearby holiday towns of Diano Marina and San Remo. Both offer good sandy beaches and have there own special atmosphere with many attractions for the visitor.
Activities and Sports
Hanbury Tennis Club.
The Hanbury Tennis Club is located in a still, green and tranquil corner of Alassio, in the center of the "Baia de Sole". Founded by Daniel Hanbury in 1923, the twelve thousand square meters of green surround 7 championship clay courts and the elegant colonial style clubhouse, which stands under a sea of pine trees and original palm.
The area has a number of Dive Centres and in Alassio itself there are 2 dive schools that operate. The schools offer tuition with dive trips for both beginners and experienced divers, all the schools are professionaly run with all the necessary certificates. In the Marina di Alassio it is possible to arrange a daily yacht charter and to hire various types of speed/power boats, mainly with skipper.
Restaurants and evening entertainment
The area has a great selection of restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Alassio hotels have visited a number of restaurants in and around the area that have a good reputation and offer value plus quality. However, there are so many to choose from and many new establishments that open every year that once in the resort just ask the locals for recommendations.
Hotel Lambereti
Elegently styled restaurant serving modern Italian food. Great choice with top quality meat, fresh fish and sea food. Relaxed atmosphere with good professional service. Extensive wine list.
Osteria Mezaluna
Small informal family style restaurant. Great location with good varied menu offering top quality meats. Good selection of wines available and overall representing very good value for money.
Acquapazza
This is a high quality restaurant with a good local reputation for its standards of food and service. The menu offers a great selection of fresh fish and sea food with prime cuts of meat. A great wine list and with its relaxed atmosphere offer a grand dining experience. Top end prices.
La Pru
Great beach side restaurant with some of the best fresh fish and seafood in Alassio. This restaurant is perfect for fish loverers, however there are some quality meat dishes available. With its location next to the beach it is best to pre-book especially if your wanting a table on the terrace and to guarantee a good location overlooking the sea.
Nightlife.
Alassio has a good selection of cafes and bars which offer something for most tastes. As the evening turns into night there are a number of music bars that are more suited to the younger crowd with a disco/club situated by the port. Most of the clubs/discos in the area are situated away from the resorts as not to give any noise nuisance, therefore you will need your own transport or use local taxi's.
